The final Medarot batch is almost ready!

Yep, you read that right! We're currently applying the last fixes and edits to the last 13 episodes of MEDAROT; then we'll do a quick consistency check on all the other eps and then the [40-52] batch AND the complete series pack will be ready to be uploaded! 

I'm really sorry for the long wait. 
In the next few days we'll be focusing exclusively on Medarot, and after that we'll go back to Beyblade and Let's & Go!!

Having two translators is GREAT! Thanks to that, Beyblade 15 and Let's & Go!! 15 are out so close to each other.

Also, an important announcement about Medarot: 
Basically the reason why the final batch has been delayed so much is because we were waiting for our usual editor/QC to come through (he's the same guy who edited the previous batches and his work was top notch). Unfortunately after months of waiting, he's still MIA so we decided to give up on him (we miss you, Porky). 
And here's the point: if you have watched our subs for Medarot feel like helping out with the editing/QC of the last 13 episodes of the series, please let us know. We need someone who knows what to fix and how to keep consistency with the rest of the series.

Anyway, Let's & Go!! 13 has been out for quite a while. 

Today we also bring you the first batch torrents (MEGA links will come soon) for the series. These files use the newly acquired BD rips so they're better quality than the ones we had before. You can choose between:

• 480p
• 720p
• 1080p

As you can see, the difference in quality is huge, I suggest you all download these if you like Let's & Go!!

The Beyblade batch should follow soon, probably by the end of next week. 

I've been pretty busy with my studies so I've barely subbed anything in the last few weeks, unfortunately this isn't going to change any time soon. Still, I'll try to get back to subbing at least one episode per week starting next week. 

If anyone that knows Jap is interested in joining as TL to cover for me, please let me know. 

I forgot to mention one thing: the squaresubs.xyz domain we had has expired (thanks Maxine for paying for it last year, we miss you!) so we'll be using the normal address (which changed to squaresubs.blogspot.com) from now on. I might buy a new domain in the future but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Hey there. Here are the fifth and sixth episode of Beyblade! 

As you may (or may not) know, this project is brought to you not just by us but also (and mainly) by Hoshi no Yume, who subbed the first four episodes (which you can find here: ep 1, ep 2, ep 3, ep 4) and is also subbing Beyblade Burst among other series. They're also the ones providing the raws, so yeah a big thanks to them. 
If you're a fan of kids shouting at their tops to make them spin faster, you should definitely check out their blog and their subs because they know their stuff, way more than us.

From episode 5 to episode 39 the subs will be mostly done by us with help from HnY, while the last 12 episodes will be done by Hoshi no Yume. 
We hope there won't be any major inconsistencies but if you find any do let us know so we can fix them in time for the first batch.

Sorry I kind of disappeared, between exams and what not I've been quite busy these past few weeks but that's almost over now. 

That doesn't mean we didn't go forward with our subs, so here are episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go!!

Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 1 + Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go!! 1 + Some news

Ok so in the Beyblade raws we have the frames are interlaced 

during scene changes, whatever. What's weird is that the Professor on 

the left doesn't appear in the previous OR in the next frame! Spooky...

Took some time but the first episodes of both new series are ready (and have been for a couple days already).

I think Let's & Go is going to take more time to sub than average because of all the techincal terms and whatnot I'm not really expert about, at least for these first few episodes.

Also I have some news for you:
Turns out another sub group, Hoshi no Yume (you might know them for their Beyblade Burst subs), was already subbing Bakuten Shoot Beublade. Long story short, we decided to do Beyblade as a joint project with them. 
This shouldn't make any big difference except maybe higher quality subs and more frequent releases. Actually, since I decided to go ahead and sub both Beyblade and Let's & Go!! at the same time, this partnership should help fill the gaps for Beyblade for when I'm subbing Let's & Go!!

Medarot Third Batch (27-39)

I guess most of you already know this but we've finally released the third Medarot batch, the one with episodes 27 to 39. Torrent MEGA

As for our new series, unfortunately we can't really do anything until we get a new profreader so I'll ask again: if anybody wants to help please let us know.

SquareSubs' next series

I've already written about this elsewhere so I figured I should make a post here as well.

Now that Medarot is finished (the final batches will be done SOON™ I promise), it's time to start working on the next show. As I've already said, the choice was between Red Baron, Medarot Damashii, Bakuten Shoot Beyblade and Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go!!

For Red Baron, Raws are pretty much impossible to find so I gave up on it (I tried downloading the Italian dub but it's tuck at 53% and I don't think that will change anytime soon).
Medarot Damashii, many Medarot fans asked for it but, as I had been told previously, the series is just not as good as the fist season so I'm sorry but I'll have to pass on that.
Finally the choice reduced to Let's & Go!! and Beyblade. I loved both shows a lot and watching the first episodes raw I noticed they're both relatively easy language-wise so I decided to go with these. 

Since I'm still not totally sure which series to work on first, I'm currently working on both at once. I finished the draft for the first Let's & Go!! episode a couple of days ago and I'm currently working on the first ep of Beyblade. 
I wouldn't mind doing both at once to the end but that would mean that each series would take twice the time to complete so I'd like to hear your opinions about it.




More importantly, we're in need of a new proofreader to help my horrible subs (no pun intended) become readable, so if you feel like helping out please let us know.

Medarot Series Finale (Episodes 51 - 52)

Welp.
Here are the last two episodes of this wonderful series.
I said it before, but this has been a great journey and I'm really sad to see it end.

I want to take this occasion to thank all the good people who helped us and supported us all this time.
First of all, thanks to my irrepleaceable team members:

• Maxine and Shocker for their fast proofreading. They made my unreadable mess into a quality script.
• Migon for the great work on the muxed mkv files with proper fonts, timing and subs.
• Porkiepyne for the wonderful edits to the scripts for the v2 subs you can find in the batches.

Also I want to thank Kimble who helped me out a lot in the beginning by pointing me in the right direction and telling me about the Medarot Wikia which was really useful for getting the names of the various Medarots, Parts and techniques right (so thanks to the curators of that site as well).
Finally, I want to give my thanks to all those who commented and downloaded our subs. Knowing there are people who appriciate our work made us want to give our best. Thank you. 
And of course thank to /m/ for sticking with me from the beginning.

However, our subbing days will continue. While Migon and Porkiepyne are hard at work to release the final batches (yes there will be a complete batch with the whole series), I'm going to take a look at the candidates for our next show. They are:

• Bakusou Kyoudai Let's Ad Go!!
• Bakuten Shoot Bey Blade
• Red Baron
• Medarot Damashii

What I'm going to do is: Watch the first episodes for each to see if they're doable with my level of Japanese; Look for related info (wikias and the like) that might help me sub the show; Check if any of the shows have had a dub that is faithful enough to use when I meet some lines that I'm not sure how to render in English.

Gee, I wonder what country these guys are representing...

While we work on the third mini-batch, here's episode 40, where the World Championship finally begins.

A couple of notes: 
as you will notice during this episode, turns out the 'World Championship' is actually a 'World Cup' and the canon transliteration for ロボトル is not 'Robattle' but 'Robotol'. 
We've decided to stick with our own version of these words for the sake of consistency, but we will probably change them to the official ones for the final batch. I hope you'll understand.

Ok so, may have asked me if I am going to sub Medarot Damashii (known in the West as Medabots Spirits) after I finish the first season. I feel like I have to give an answer to this:

I had no intenetion to in the beginning, mostly because I had heard multiple times that Damashi is overall a worse series the the first and it changes various things (characters, animation quality, general feel, etc). For now I still am not sure if I will sub it, but let's say my answer changed from "no" to "we'll see". 
So after I finish the fist series I'll check out Damashii and see if it's really that bad and decide from there.
In any case, as I said when I started, after Medarot I first plan to sub Bakusou Kyoudai Let's and Go!!, so if you want to see us sub Damashii, you'll have to wait for awhile anyway.

I hope this will answer your questions. That said, these plans may change in the future and I can't make any promises.
